Hansika Motwani was born on August 9, 1991, in Mumbai into a Sindhi family. Her mother, Mona Motwani, is a dermatologist, and her father, Pradeep Motwani, is a businessman. She completed her schooling at Podar International School and the International Curriculum School in Santacruz, Mumbai.
