The film follows Maggie Peyton (Lindsay Lohan), a college graduate from a legendary NASCAR family. Restrained by her overprotective father, Ray Peyton Sr. (Michael Keaton), Maggie discovers a discarded 1963 Volkswagen Beetle in a junkyard. The car, possessing an autonomous mind and competitive spirit, pushes Maggie back into competitive racing.
