On November 25, 2015, after a four-year legal process, justice was finally served. A Dhaka Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal sentenced Porimol Joydhor to for his crimes. He was also fined Tk 50,000 ($590 USD approx.), with an additional six months in jail if the fine went unpaid. This ruling was upheld, and as recently as February 2026, the High Court rejected a bail petition from Joydhor, reaffirming that he will remain behind bars for his life term.
