At its core, Sholawat Husainiyah is understood to be a divinely inspired composition (ilhaman) from Allah SWT, bestowed upon the great Sufi saint, . According to tradition, Sheikh Abdul Qadir Al-Jilani received this sacred litany directly from the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through spiritual inspiration. The chain of transmission did not stop there. In the 20th century, the charismatic Indonesian Sufi master, KH. Achmad Asrori al-Ishaqi (RA) , played a pivotal role in reviving and spreading this practice. He received it from Sheikh Abdul Qadir Al-Jilani and famously transcribed it in a profound spiritual state in the holy city of Mecca, near the Multazam area of the Ka'bah in 1995. This blessed transmission was then passed on to the members of the Al-Khidmah congregation in Indonesia, which has since become the primary standard-bearer and community most associated with its practice.
