The second half of the episode shifts gears from creativity to politics. The school's "huge crew" (student body) nominates Ned for class president against his will. He’s running against Suzie Crabgrass (Christian Serratos), the most popular girl in school and a formidable campaigner who has previously won by handing out "Vote for Suzie" pencils and candy bars. Ned, believing student elections are nothing but a popularity contest, tries everything to get disqualified. He spray-paints a locker (with paint that matches the locker's color, so everyone thinks he’s cleaning it), starts a food fight (interpreted as a creative recycling method), and throws a basketball at Coach Dirga (who simply appreciates the effort).
