This Italian film is infamous for two reasons: its graphic violence and its director's legal troubles. Cannibal Holocaust is a found-footage film about a documentary crew that goes missing in the Amazon rainforest while filming cannibal tribes. The recovered footage reveals their descent into savagery. The film's violence is startlingly realistic, so much so that director Ruggero Deodato was arrested and forced to prove in court that he hadn't actually killed his actors on camera. Adding to the controversy, the film features graphic depictions of rape, torture, and the real, on-screen killing of several animals. Beneath its brutality, however, the film delivers a sharp critique of media sensationalism and asks the question: "Who are the real cannibals?".
In a dystopian future, a futuristic law enforcer and his rookie partner are locked inside Peach Trees—a massive, 200-story slum tower—by a drug kingpin who orders the entire population to hunt them down. extremestreets 10 movies verified
