The official Goldcut JK-series driver is actually a Windows printer driver that allows the plotter to appear as a virtual printer in Windows. This is necessary if you plan to cut directly from CorelDRAW by sending a “print” job to the plotter. However, you can also bypass the official driver entirely and drive the plotter using other software (as discussed later).
Without the proper driver, your Windows 7 system might list the device as: "Unknown Device" "USB Serial Controller" "COM3/COM4" (with a yellow exclamation mark)
